Geshe Yonten had a chance last week to visit with the children of Save Zanskar in Manali. While he was there he gave them all a new set of clothes—including sweaters, trousers and shoes. The children also received new school supplies for the upcoming school year.

Because schools in northern India don’t have central heat, they have an extended winter break and a shorter summer break. Schools close at the end of December and resume in early March. The children just started classes a few weeks ago in Manali.

In addition to their new clothes and school supplies Geshe Yonten took the kids out for a nice lunch topped off by ice cream for everyone! Many of the kids also took their visit to Manali as a chance to get a haircut for the new school year.

The new clothes and school supplies were all made possible by the kind donations of the many friends and supporters of Save Zanskar! Thank you all for making this possible.
